How to Inspect a Used Bike Before Buying: 12-Point Checklist

A used bike can be a great deal — if you inspect it properly. Check the chassis and engine numbers against the RC, look for frame damage, test the brakes and clutch, and verify service history and insurance.

The checklist

  1. Match chassis & engine numbers to RC
  2. Check for frame/weld damage
  3. Inspect tyres and chain wear
  4. Test cold start and idle
  5. Verify documents, insurance and pending challans
